Microsoft’s new cloud OS. Assuming no prior knowledge of Microsoft Azure, this session will start by explaining the Microsoft Azure Platform covering IaaS, SaaS and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS). Then, demonstrating key concepts with a real Microsoft Azure solution built and deployed to the cloud, we’ll describe the Microsoft Azure service model, including concepts like Affinity groups, Virtual networks and Storage. We will also take a look at the new Microsoft Azure Portal currently in preview. The session will then conclude by discussing the different service update options and detail the recovery steps Microsoft Azure follows when it detects that a service or a hardware device has failed.
