How often have you had to repeat a task in SharePoint or make broad changes across your environment that affects multiple sites? This session will go over some basics of using PowerShell with SharePoint and then move into some scenarios and address where spending time writing a PowerShell script can help save time in the long run or provide valuable information to the business. The presentation will include lots of demos and "playing" with PowerShell to show what's possible.

The discussions and scenarios will include how to use PowerShell for SharePoint Installations and some basic administration of SharePoint with PowerShell. You'll also learn some reporting/information gathering on a SharePoint environment and how to use PowerShell to simplify and speed up what may seem like large scale change across SharePoint environments.

Ben Stegink got his start back in 2006 working with SharePoint 2003 right before the SharePoint 2007 Beta was introduced. Since then he’s worked in various consulting roles, always focusing on the Installation, Configuration and Administration of SharePoint. Since starting Intelligink, Ben has worked for professional sports organizations, government organizations, and organizations ranging in size from as few as 25 employees up to organizations of several thousand employees spread around the globe. Ben’s passion is automating as many tasks as he can in SharePoint utilizing PowerShell. It may be an installation, fixing an issue in SharePoint farm, automating site provisioning or creating reports on a SharePoint environment, or anything he can save time doing by utilizing PowerShell.
